Why should I go?

Ko Pha Ngan is much quieter than neighbouring Ko Samui so perfect for a family holiday. With lots of secluded little bays scattered over the island the chance that you will find a quiet beach to relax at is very likely. One important thing to consider if you are here with your family is to stay away from Haad Rin around full moon, allot of backpackers will stay on the island for a few nights to party during the famous full moon party.

How long should I stay?

The bare minimum if you quickly want to see the highlights would be 4 days but if you are looking to relax and enjoy the island I would suggest 1 to 2 weeks.

What activities can I do?

  • Rent a scooter to tour around the island
  • Snorkeling
  • Thong Sala night market
  • Visit one of the 7 waterfalls
  • The challenge (wipe out)
  • Ang Thong National Marine Park
  • Diving
  • Hiking
  • Yoga
  • Muay Thai

How do I get there?

  1. Fly from Bangkok airport to Ko Samui airport and then take a ferry to Ko Pha Ngan

  1. Take a ferry from Phuket to Ko Pha Ngan.

What is the best time to visit?

High season (late December, January, July and August):

Warm and sunny days (not as hot as in April and May) perfect for the beach. Sometimes it rains a little.

Shoulder season (February, March, April, May, June, September and early December):

Shoulder season is a good time to go to Ko Pha Ngan Hotels are not as expensive as in High season. Most days are sunny perfect for the beach. April and May are the sunniest and driest months of the year.

Low season (October/November):

During low season there is allot of rain. The rainforest will be lush and green and hotels drop in price. You still have a chance on sunny days.

Spend your Thailand time wisely!
